A book about the lifestyle of the quirky pukeko — its habitat, special body features, predators and behaviour. It includes full colour, A3-sized photographs and visual elements which are accompanied by interactive rhyming, humorous text.
Included at the back of the book are guidance notes covering curriculum links, suggestions for language and vocabulary extension, and critical thinking.
The book is spiral bound for ease of use with large groups and has durable laminated covers.
Aimed specifically at early years (3–6 year olds), the book is a stand-alone resource, but it can be used to complement and support our Native Birds kit.
