Our mission is to make science fun, accessible and easy.
Never before has the need to create a science literate public been more important and both within New Zealand and worldwide the push to improve STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education has become paramount. However, teacher professional development has been severely lacking in recent years and so the need to offer best practice, quality science educational resources and guidance is critical for improving science education.
Here is where the Science Resource Box comes in. We offer science education guidance and products that cater directly to teacher and student needs. Using simple outlines and approaches, we guide the teacher and learner using the most up-to-date processes and tools available.
The Science Resource Box evolved out of Educational Solutions Ltd which has been operating as a company since 1998. Based at Lincoln, Canterbury, New Zealand, it was established by Peter Smith who began by writing and publishing primary and high school science resources and working with Lincoln University and crown research institutes on their science outreach programmes.
Peter Smith has been actively developing educational programmes, resources and training teachers for the last 25 years. He develops the Science Roadshow's programme, shows and exhibits, runs PLD programmes for science teachers throughout New Zealand and is Education Manager of the Sir Paul Callaghan Science Academy.
Our current push is towards establishing a foundation science programme for early childhood and another programme for primary school.
